Every Christmas Eve, Edward Cullen sits in a bar and regrets the decision he made ten years earlier that tore Bella from him. But when he gets a second chance to right that wrong, it's not quite what he expected

Christmas - that magical time of year when we gather together with those we love and enjoy the holiday. The gifts are all pretty. The decorations are all perfect. The food, OH THE FOOD, and the parties all bring together those images of perfection....


Well that is how we all hope it goes.
For many Christmas is not like this. Instead it reminds us that there are things we do not have. That missing something. It is elusive and haunts us.


This fic I am insisting you read today is such a story.


It is a story of regret, of love lost.
Edward is a successful reporter, Bella a successful author. They have not spoken in 10 years, not since Edward made a decision that changed both of their lives.


He did not propose to her and he has spent the last 10 years trying to get over that one choice. He gets what we all wish we could have. He gets a Do Over.
Lucky bastard - or is he?


This fic is based on two movies It's a Wonderful Life and The Family Man.


Edward gets to go back and see what his life would be IF he had proposed. He does not get to see all the things that he did in the 10 years since his proposal, he wakes up instead in the middle of a mess he created by DIFFERENT regrets.

 Beyond Time

After the Cullens leave Forks, a twist of fate lands Bella in Chicago in 1918. She thinks it's a second chance to build a life with Edward, but when she finds him, he's not quite what she expected. Can Bella create the future she's hoping for?

I had my reservations reading this fic. It was rec'd heavily on Twitter by Spanglmaker9. I gave it a shot because well, lets face it she, has not steered me wrong yet ..

Why did I have reservations? Well it starts out as a New Moon fic. I did not like New Moon -  the original. I also do not like Vampire fics. (I know, I know. SUE you read TWIFIC! WTF is wrong with you not liking vampires?? I just don't *shrugs*)

For me the saving grace of this fic is that it gives Modern Day Bella a chance to see life in the world that MADE Edward.

The fic starts out after Edward has left in New Moon. Bella goes on a spirit quest and somehow ends up in the past. This for me is where the fun begins.

She ends up in Chicago and tries to figure out WHY she is there. She figures that since she does not have Edward in the future she will have him in the past.

Now comes the hard part. This human Edward is not the same Edward she remembers. HER Edward is well more refined. I guess you could say he is more controlled, he has years of living as an immortal. This new Edward is 17. He is human, he is flawed, he is a product of his time.

How will a thoroughly modern Bella fit in the world at the turn of the century?

Will human Edward fall for her? How long will she be in the past?

I love this fic it made me cry, it made me laug,h it made me wanna slap Edward for his sexist ways. It made me wanna slap Bella for trying to force her time on the past. It is a great read ! give it a try you will not regret it

Sue's interview with DeJeanSmith about her fic 'Evermore Experience'

 Evermore Experience 

You guessed it, SUE is recing another historical romance.
This one however has a bit of a twist. It is mystery romance - time travel - supernatural all wrapped into one package.
The best thing about this story I have to say is the character "L". I love her. Really, really love her. From what I have read she is the key to this story. Her personality and heart and turn of phrase will have you just wanting her for your auntie too!

SO WHY does SUE think you should read this fic?
Well for one thing it is one of those relatively unknown little stories. It grabs you, sucks you in, makes you want more. Now if you are not fond of waiting for answers to your mystery then by all means put it on alert and once it is complete give it a read. The great thing is she updates pretty regularly, so even if you wanna read it as a WIP, you will not be waiting months in between updates.

The story follows Bella who gets a chance to go live the Evermore Experience. It is billed as a complete immersion program. Participants are giving a character with a background so they can experience life as it was during this time. And HERE is where the magic happens!
