Tanja's Interview with belladonnacullen about her fic 'There is a Light'

This was 1987; before the Internet, before Twitter, before Facebook – this was back when it was still possible for people not to know about things: big things - like bands, and little things - like G-spots. AH, ExB, with some other parings along the way.
Twilight - Rated: M - English - Romance/Angst - Chapters: 22 - Words: 152,131 - Reviews: 4228 - Updated: 10-21-11 - Published: 5-23-11 - Bella & Edward -

Think back a few years: before you were able to let everyone know every single thing you were doing at right this moment via Twitter. Before you actually had to write down "friends" birthday in your calender because Facebook was still "TheFacebook" and only available to University students. Think back to a time before Skype made it possible to call friends and family abroad. Before Google and Wikipedia made your life a lot easier. A time when you still had to use dial-up internet. Before emails or mobile phones.

Have you arrived in the '80 yet? Remember when info wasn't just available with a mouse click but you had to rely on books, tv, mags, newspapers and friends.

And this is where There is a Light takes us.

The story is about Bella telling her young daughter the story of how she became a fan of the band The Masens in 1987 and how she came to love the lead singer, Edward Masen, in a time were keeping in contact with someone on the road wasn't that easy. It is told in first person and starts in the present. Flashbacks take you with her through the last 24 years.

But this is not necessarily a love story. And it's NOT a groupie story. It is a story about growing up, about learning from mistakes, about heartbreak. About misunderstandings and things not always been the way they seem at first.

And I bet all of you will be sitting on the edge of your seat wanting to find out more about just who the father of Little One is.

Let's see what the author has to tell us.

Glee fic: The Sidhe by Chazzam

The Sidhe by Chazzam

Last time I wrote, I introduced you to the Glee world of fic and Klaine. I’m not going to lie but I’m still OBSESSED with Glee, so please humour my flailing over anything and everything Glee/Klaine.

This time I’m reccing something that is a Glee fic in as much as the main characters are Kurt and Blaine. This fic, I found by accident and ended up staying up late into the night reading it as fast as I could.

The Sidhe by Chazzam
Epic romantic fantasy adventure, seriously AU, with angst and fluff in equal measure. I can sense your hesitation, but just give the first chapter a try. It's been winning some folks over and it may surprise you.
Glee - Rated: M - English - Romance/Fantasy - Chapters: 32 - Words: 118,669 - Reviews: 2905 - Updated: 7-15-11 - Published: 5-13-11 - Blaine & Kurt H. - Complete

First off, The Sidhe (pronounced ‘Shee’) is a fantasy. Blaine is a human living in a place called Villalu, where there is a roaring slave trade of the Sidhe. The Sidhe are like elves, powerful, beautiful and long-lasting. However, this slave culture is more than just manual labour...

One day, Blaine goes along with his master, the prince of Villalu, to buy more slaves, and this is when we meet Kurt. Kurt is a Sidhe, and despite his predicament, Blaine notices the fire in his eyes has not gone out, he’s still fighting. Blaine immediately decides then and there to somehow free this Sidhe, and get him back to his homeland.

And this is where the story begins. Chazzam weaves a complex world around these two characters that is infinite, lush and detailed. All the original characters are well developed and interesting. Kurt and Blaine themselves are recognisable as Kurt and Blaine, because despite their different circumstances, Chazzam has worked in the traits we see in the show into the personalities of these characters. Eg. Kurt in the show has had a very hard time at school, so has built up walls to protect himself, but is still inherently positive. Sidhe!Kurt is the same, but this stems from being in captivity as a slave.

As the story progresses, you learn more and more about the Sidhe and their ways, and about Kurt’s life before he was captured. Of course, over time Blaine and Kurt become closer, and the fluff, smut and angst start to come with equal measure.

I think the underlying story of these two people finding each other and battling the odds to try to stay together is what keeps you reading, not the supernatural goings-on, or the world Chazzam has built. The epilogue by itself is a masterpiece that will leave you wanting to know more, but satisfied at the same time.

This fic already has a pretty solid following. The author has a tumblr, where she posts fanart, and has answered some questions to be read after you’ve finished (i.e very spoilery).

I hope you enjoyed my last rec, and will give this one a try.

SUE's Interview with WhatsmynomDePlume about her fic 'The Best I Ever Had'

Sex between friends complicates everything. Bella knows this. But she has no idea how much more Edward is going to complicate things.

Twilight - Rated: M - English - Romance/Humor - Chapters: 10 - Words: 46,197 - Reviews: 3740 - Updated: 4-29-11 - Published: 2-17-11 - Edward & Bella

NOW before you discount this story as yet another buddy tale where the buds sleep with each other, shenanigans happens and everything ends up as Happily Ever After let me tell you a thing or three:

1) the author of this fic is damn funny. She weaves us a lovely story with tons of witty banter and if you know me I LOVE banter

2) instead of both of them pretending to not want the other one ONE of them (trying not to spoil how am I doin T?) has been waiting for the other for a LONG time

3) did I mention witty silly banter?

This is one of those "it's rainy and I need something fluffy and funny with minimal heartbreak to make me feel good" kinda stories.

I LOVE the Edward in this. Yes, I know I say that in all of his incarnations, but this one is just a sweetie. I wanna buy him a beer and hang out watching TV.

OH and Emmett OH MY. If you like Emmett this guy is the loud mouth big bro goof you can really bear hug. The things that come outta his mouth remind me of my big bro.

You see, it all starts out at a bar where the gang (makes me think of Scooby Do but with alcohol instead of drug references) is hanging out. Bella tells them about her latest date. Before Edward comes over she makes reference to the date being the best she ever had.

O.o

Edward, of course, wants to know what's going on and MUCH to Bellas dismay Emmett brings up what she said. Unknown to the group Edward is the guy Bella describes as "the best she's ever had" and the conversation that follows is full of funny innuendos.

And that is just the start! So, if you are in need of a feel good fic, a fast read that is complete and damn funny, read this.
You know the drill folks. leave some lovin for the author AND make sure you come back to let me know what you think!

Sue's Interview with Savage7289 about 'Could Be Worse, Right?'

I'm tired of the dating scene. I'm tired of trying to be the nice boyfriend. I am letting go of the last scruple I have. I'm going to buy a slave. Edward/Bella. M for obvious reasons. If you don't like this sort of thing, don't read it.
Twilight - Rated: M - English - Romance/Angst - Chapters: 38 - Words: 52,066 - Reviews: 7093 - Updated: 4-11-11 - Published: 3-21-11 - Edward & Bella

YES that is the new banner she was teasing us with!! Eeep

OK as you may have guessed I am a bit of a fan of Savages writing. I like how she takes a plot and then twists it till we do not know which end is up. She does this through her manipulation of the characters and the things they have to learn through her story.

Oddly enough she writes some of the worst Edwards ever. I mean these are not the Edward you want to take home to mama. Savages Edwards are the kind you only like if you are a masochistic female that loves to fix the imperfect guy.

and BOY are her Edwards messed up. I love that.

Yes I am the masochistic female. I love to see a messed up guy go through his own personal hell and grow to be a better person. THAT is what she writes.

Now I recal a few weeks ago when Savage first started this messed up train of thought. Some people were saying "slavery is never sexy" Well if you read PAST that bit you will see she does NOT portray it as sexy. Because it is not.

WHY I like this story?
You have messed up Edward. He is not the brightest bulb on the tree. He needs some serious social lessons. He gets a hair up his ass about wanting a sex slave. WHY? Well he does not think it out really far but to him, in his simplistic way of viewing things, this is the way to go. After all, his own personal sex slave would give him what he wants - no questions asked.

So he has an acquaintance that deals with this. The guy asks Edward all kinds of questions. Taking his "order" so to speak. Through the many twists and turns of the story we come to see that this girl, that has been forced into slavery, is there because of this order.

OH MY the stuff that happens in each chapter has me more excited for the next just to see where Savage is gonna take poor doofissward next.

This guy thinks he has it all under control. He THINKS he is doing well.
Poor poor Edward. He did the one big mistake most males make: he thought.

Sue's Interview with Melolabel about her fic 'Come Back to Me'

When the fire of newlywed love cools and the demands of life take over, how can Bella&Edward rise above the storm and resist drifting apart? With their marriage crumbling, what kind of wake up call will it take to get back to their HEA? AU/AH B/ETwilight - Rated: T - English - Hurt/Comfort/Romance - Chapters: 15 - Words: 72,572 - Reviews: 496 - Updated: 3-10-11 - Published: 9-13-10 - Edward & Bella

Alrighty lets talk marriage.

I know there are some fics out there where there is the HEA that ends in a big white wedding or a wedding on the beach or a runaway to Vegas style. Get married by big fat fake Elvis and we ride off into the sunset shitting out daisies and rainbows.

Rarely does fic tackle marriage. I can honestly off the top of my head think of ONLY 3 fics (this one included) set in present time that deal with reality in marriage.

In fic usually the problem in the marriage ends up leading one partner or another to cheat. And then they find their true love and we are back to unicorns having bowel issues with wild flowers!

But lets face it married ladies out there:
cheating is not the biggest problem in married life. Much like it takes little things to show love it takes little things to kill it too .

Little things like not paying attention when the other person is talking. Little things like not seeing the other persons pain because you are too busy or too hurt yourself. THAT is what this fic is about.

These two were High School sweethearts. Been together for years, best friends. He is now a resident while she works at a job she hates to support him. Oh he has access to money but his pride will not allow him to ask for that help from his parents EVEN though he is on good terms with them.

We find two people who are struggling with things like little money, little time and after a while we find they do not know each other as well as they had thought. Suddenly Bella has had enough and she needs to get away so she takes her small inheritance from her grandmother and tells him she is leaving to go find herself.

NOW SUE and Dr. Phil would agree here (SUE btw is way smarter than Dr. Phil even though SUE has less letters after her name and SUE is also much more charming!)  Running away does NOT help your problem. The problem is still gonna BE there when you come home.

HOWEVER the neat thing is she wants to give them each some distance to get some perspective on things and gaining perspective is important in life. Sometimes you just need to know what really matters and what is unimportant.

Edward has ALWAYS had someone doing things for him SO what happens when Edward is left to take care of EVERYTHING without Bella? What is the condition of their apartment? What about their finances? (Bella deals with those too) How does he eat? HOw does Bella fair without him? What about Edwards jealousy issues? you KNOW he has them!

Sue's Interview with Beegurl13 about her story 'The Maiden'

Raised by a Comanche tribe in 1870's Texas, Bella must learn to live in an ever changing world. What happens when she loses the man she loves, only to find another man she wants more, but he's married... E/B, M, AH. FAGE2 story written for ZenOneness
Twilight - Rated: M - English - Romance/Drama - Chapters: 16 - Words: 79,332 - Reviews: 834 - Updated: 4-3-11 - Published: 3-15-11 - Bella & Edward - Complete

As you all know by now I have a real affinity for period romance fics. So today I am bringing you my review/interview about the story The Maiden.

The Maiden is a story that takes you to the wild west. This fic is not so much a history lesson as it is a story about romance and life and finding the true love.

THINGS I like about this fic:
Kate... you will fall in LOVE with Kate. I know I did. She is an amazing character and her love for her husband Edward and his love for her... wait what? You mean Edward and Bella are not married in this story? Yes that is what I am saying. Edward has a different love in this story. DO NOT let this deter you from reading it. TRUST ME all you E/B lovers this one is NOT to be passed up.

Here is why. Seeing Edward deal with the different women in his life is not to be missed. Yes, Bella does come in here. Yes, they do have a connection.
HOWEVER he is already married. He does not cheat on his wife.

This story is a good one for those that want to see how a loving character deals with her own mortality. Honestly I could even do without E/B portion in this story. I just wanted more Kate. More Kate, PLEASE give me more Kate. She was fabulous.

She becomes friends with Bella, who is also called pale swan because she was raised by a local tribe after her parents died. She barely remembers her parents.

ANOTHER thing I love in this story: there is no bad guy. No evil person out to get anyone. This story deals with relationship dynamics and the depth of different kinds of love from parental love, the love of friends, and romantic love.

Read it and let me know what you think.

Sue's interview with Jadedandboring author of 'The Kübler Ross Model'

A tragic death. A failing relationship. Two very different events with hauntingly similar effects. M for language and difficult situations.
Twilight - Rated: M - English - Hurt/Comfort/Friendship - Chapters: 7 - Words: 17,852 - Reviews: 419 - Updated: 11-21-09 - Published: 10-6-09 - Bella & Edward - Complete

I was on twitter one evening chatting with a friend Jadedandboring about fic and life and things she told me she wrote a Remember Me o/s. So I read it and I cried. This o/s is the story of what happens to Tylers sister and how she deals with the grief of great loss. Well, after reading that and begging her to continue the o/s because, me being me, I had other questions about that story, she told me to go read The Kübler Ross Model.

Many of you know I do not usually go for angsty fics that are gonna make me cry. I have to say I'm glad I did not skip this one.

This story deals with the stages of grief. Having lost many people in my life I can strongly identify with these stages.

The story starts out at the funeral of Dexter. Bella, his fiance, is giving his eulogy. Throughout the story, in a series of flashbacks and dreams and Bellas imagination, we get to know and love this man who captured Bellas heart.

If you have an afternoon and want a good fic that will captivate you based solely on the love of two people and how they deal with a tragic loss of a young man, (yes Dexter deals with the loss of his own life and health) then please read this one and once you do come back and let me know what you think!

Tanja's Interview with Lillybellis about We Come To Life Beneath The Stars

As Bella Swan starts over with hopes of finding her future, Edward Cullen is hanging on desperately to his past. She's treading water, and he's a corporate golden boy. They share an office, but few words...until one night changes everything.
Twilight - Rated: M - English - Romance/Drama - Chapters: 13 - Words: 119,551 - Reviews: 2312 - Updated: 12-8-10 - Published: 6-16-10 - Bella & Edward

Everyone probably has people they completely trust with fic recs to the degree that they don't even question what this story is about. They just start reading, knowing that they'll most likely love the story when this person does. This is how I came to find We Come To Life Beneath The Stars.

At a time where I wasn't really reading any new Twifics someone tweeted the link to it and I bookmarked it to read later (read: when I felt like reading fics again) without question. And let me tell you, once I started reading, I couldn't stop. I read all available chapters (13 then) in one day.

The story is about Bella who's basically starting over her life in her mid-twenties. She quits the job she got through some favors her aunt called in
and starts working as Executive Assistant. She also breaks up with her boyfriend of 6 years whom she fell out of love with. Both decisions her mother can't understand.

At the new job she meets Edward Cullen, who is sitting at the desk across from her and seemingly hates her. Soon things between them get interesting.

To learn more about the mystery that is Edward Cullen read the story and the interview with Lillybellis.

A Wonderful Caricature of Intimacy by Countess of Abe - Harry Potter fic

Draco loves his son more than anything in the world. So, when his ex-wife plans to take his son away, Draco asks the most unlikely person for help. Hermione must decide whether changing her entire life is worth helping the man she hates unconditionally.
Harry Potter - Rated: M - English - Romance/Drama - Chapters: 25 - Words: 137,486 - Reviews: 2877 - Updated: 9-3-08 - Published: 11-6-07 - Draco M. & Hermione G. - Complete

Now move away with me from Bella and Edward, and let's talk about fic that is based in JK Rowling's universe.

Alright, you should know by now that I like fics that are sweet, without tons of angst and tons of manufactured strife. This story has just that. This is a story that I love. You wanna know why?

Well, Draco is a young dad of an adorable kid. He is not the spoiled brat you know from the Harry Potter world of JK Rowling.

He grew up.
He matured.
And he is deeply in love with...

Zane.

Don't get all freaky and shocked, thinking I have recced you slash (SUE does not do slash. You want that, talk to T!).
Zane is his son and NOTHING is as sexy as a man that loves and cares for his child.
Take the attributes of Draco, the determination, the tenacity, add to it a man who learned from a mistake of a one night stand with a spoiled woman (Pansy), and you have this Daddy Draco.

SO SUE, where does the hotness come in?
Enter Hermione, who, taking a page from her Muggle roots, has started a school for magical children. Where as most children from magical families are home-schooled, Hermione starts a preschool where the children can prep for Hogwarts.

Guess what newly-single Dad needs to do with his little boy? YUP. Enroll him in school. AND here is where the sparks start to fly.
Zane, of course, falls in love with his new teacher. Draco tries his best to not badmouth her, while being oddly attracted to her physically (of course).

In this story, the two make a choice to be together in order to save Draco's custody of his son from his ex-wife.
During the course of this, they actually fall in love, but it takes time.
Other things you will love about this fic:

  • The precocious and very cute mini-Draco, Zane. He is adorable but not super cutesy.
  • A special appearance by Fred and George Weasley had me laughing, literally OUT LOUD. I got some funny looks from the family for those times!

SO give this fic a shot. You never know, this might be the one that converts you to a new fandom!
And if you have already read some HP fic, it will reunite you with an old friend!

Tanja's Interview with miztrezboo about her story 'Subway Strangers'

"Every day, my eyes search for him. A quick glimpse on a subway platform until I see him at night, in my dreams..."
A love story between two strangers in search for something more. For Hmonster. AH

Let me just state at the beginning that this is a not an Edward/Bella fic. Sure, they ARE mentioned but this story is about Rosalie and Emmet. And while I usally don't read fics where Edward and Bella aren't the main pairing, this one is just too good to pass. It's all about feeling.

Anyway, lets start with what this fic is all about.

Everyone of you, that has to take the train daily, no matter if to work or school, probably found themself watching the people standing around on the platform, waiting. There are the school kids. The teenage girls chatting. The businessmen reading the paper or checking their emails. And people just standing around bored

Rosalie is one of those persons watching other people on the platform while she's waiting for the train to take her home from work. This is where she sees Emmet, her Subway Stranger, for the first time. Standing on the other platform. She's been watching him for months, not brave enough to go over and talk to him.

Me? I watch. I stalk my Subway Stranger and every night he plays out my fantasies of a career that doesn't involve the ties he seems to hate so much. Every night I live with the thoughts of what it could be like if I was brave enough, willing enough to have any sort of courage to walk over and introduce myself.

Everyday I see him, and in those few minutes before our trains arrive, taking us in opposite directions, I like to believe that he might be interested in me, too.
This story is about grown-ups, with grown-up jobs and grown-up problems. It's about certain things being different than they seemed to be. Rosalie is not the overly confident, maneating, woman. And Emmet? Behind the suit and tie hides a guy playing acoustic guitar at karaoke night.

Lets see what Boo has to tell you about Subway Strangers.

Sue's Interview with Tkegl about her fic 'Do Over'

Every Christmas Eve, Edward Cullen sits in a bar and regrets the decision he made ten years earlier that tore Bella from him. But when he gets a second chance to right that wrong, it's not quite what he expected

Christmas - that magical time of year when we gather together with those we love and enjoy the holiday. The gifts are all pretty. The decorations are all perfect. The food, OH THE FOOD, and the parties all bring together those images of perfection....

Well that is how we all hope it goes.
For many Christmas is not like this. Instead it reminds us that there are things we do not have. That missing something. It is elusive and haunts us.

This fic I am insisting you read today is such a story.

It is a story of regret, of love lost.
Edward is a successful reporter, Bella a successful author. They have not spoken in 10 years, not since Edward made a decision that changed both of their lives.

He did not propose to her and he has spent the last 10 years trying to get over that one choice. He gets what we all wish we could have. He gets a Do Over.
Lucky bastard - or is he?

This fic is based on two movies It's a Wonderful Life and The Family Man.

Edward gets to go back and see what his life would be IF he had proposed. He does not get to see all the things that he did in the 10 years since his proposal, he wakes up instead in the middle of a mess he created by DIFFERENT regrets.

Aren't humans fickle ?

So join me in listening to Tkegl talk about this fabulous bit of Christmas joy she is bringing to us. I know I know it is after Christmas but for me Christmas is not a day but a season. This fic will be complete by the end of the week!

Tanja's interview with Jaxington about her fic "Life in B Minor"

Bella and Edward are the most unlikely couple at their California private school.  She is the queen bee and he is the soulful musician, but against the odds they fall in love.  At 18, Bella gets pregnant and the stresses of the music industry tear them apart. Ten years later, they are brought together again.
BxE then BxJ and back to BxE

I suck really, really bad. I had everything in this post ready for nearly a month but couldn't find the inspiration for my actual write-up. So here's what I'm coming up with on Monday morning 7am....

Back in the day, when I was still reading fics over at Twilighted, I was browsing the Most Recent Update pages and saw the summary for this story called Life in B Minor. Back then it was only 3 chapters and didn't have a banner (you know, I usually started reading a fic based on the banner). But seeing as I LOVE stories where Bella gets pregnant or already has kids I thought I'd give it a try.

Life in B Minor tells the story "rich girl" Bella and Edward, a musician. Both met at 16, going to the same school but Bella never noticing Edward. The story is told in the present about 12 years after they met with Bella being a single mom to her and Edwards daughter Vanessa, working for her fathers recording company, and Edward being a famous rockstar with his band Vampire Sunrise. Flashback chapters show what happened in all those years leading to Edward and Bella not being together anymore.

I really love Jaxingtons writing stye and personally wouldn't never have thought this was her first story. I don't think it's easy to write present and past and don't get everything completely mixed up (that's what would happen to me)

So if you want to read a newly complete fic about the music industry, rockstars, a strong Bella and a relationship with misunderstandings like any other normal relationship you should read Life in B Minor. Oh, and did I mention Daddyward? (for a better summary read the elevator pitch question)

Enough of my sensless rambling, read what Jaxington has to say.

Sue's interview with RochelleAllison author of 'Starry Eyed Inside'

High School Fictional. No one sends Bella into a tailspin quite like Edward Cullen... but can she make him hers? The ups and downs and all arounds.
Twilight - Rated: M - English - Romance/Drama - Chapters: 13 - Words: 61,633 - Reviews: 2540 - Updated: 11-16-10 - Published: 8-24-10 - Bella & Edward

AHHHHHH High School...

For some a great time, for others welll..... not so great.
Remember that guy? You know the one the guy... He was hot, he was elusive, he was cool and seemingly untouchable? YUP that one. Picture him in your mind. I know who was mine and I felt like a complete fool when I stuttered and stammered and said the worlds stupidest things in front of him.

WELL this fic captures all those horrible insecure High School type feelings.
Does he like me? Did he smile my way? Do I look OK? Is there something on my face? Snd the worst EVER moment when he actually SPEAKS to you?
Butterflies.

That "Imma gonna puke and giggle at the same time please do not let me do the snort laugh" thing in front of him! The whole "my parents are too stupid to breathe" thing we all felt as teens and our friends are our lifeline through the mess of adolescence

If you have read ANYTHING by Ro you know her stuff is fabulous and simple and real. The plots are not complicated, full of twists and turns and fantastical stuff. This story is such a sweet fic. Not overly fluffy but one of those "WOW, I wish I could tell a story like that". I do not want to tell too much about the story because I hate to give anything away.

SO take SUE's advice. Read it you will not be sorry!

Sue's Interview with Melolabel about her fic 'A New Frontier'

BannerFans.com

 A New Frontier by Melolabel

A while back I did this interview. When I say a WHILE back I am not kidding. This interview was originally posted on our old blog and accidentally did not get moved - opps. Our fault, but HERE we bring it back to you.

It will come as NO surprise that SUE has a great affinity for period fics. I love historical drama AND THIS one, well, lets just say that it takes a different look at the side characters of the Twi stuff and it made me giggle like crazy.

Think about it. They live on a farm. Where would the side characters come into play in family life?

Well, here we have Alice and Jasper as horses, Rose and Emmett are a cow and a bull, the mean girls are chickens (as a former chicken farmer I LOVE THAT)
This is not say that this fic does not have it's drama and some angst. It does! It also has a great show of love and a terrific story that makes for a lovely rainy afternoon escape.

SO lets see what I learned about the author and her story. OH and you are going to want to check out her other stories because I love Melly and she writes some great fun stuff. Especially a fic she wrote with Belly (BellaMadonna1) called The Marksman.

Guest Blogger Angela's interview with StellaLunaSky about her fic Grand Jete

She moves through her comfortable life without much passion, without much conviction. When she meets the man who can teach her the importance of treating transient life with respect and love, she has to take the grandest leap of faith she's ever faced.

I’m one of those readers who have a million WIP stories on my alert list. It was getting to the point that I couldn’t keep them straight so I made it my mission to only read completed stories until my alert list dwindled a little.  Enter Miss Stellalunasky and that mission was shot. I had already read her Romance/Humor story Bad Fauxmance and it was one of my alert stories that completed, clearing a spot for a new one. She basically replaced herself on my list.

She didn’t do it on purpose of course. She simply asked a question on Twitter to her Nurse/Doctor followers who knew things about hospitals and such. After I commented on it and listened to her reasons behind the question I had to read the story she was getting doing on.

I was hooked from chapter one. Grand Jete (which I learned is a ballet leap) is the story of a young woman, Bella, who has lost her passion. She teaches dance in her childhood dance studio, goes to college, and moves through life without much thought to why she does what she does. Then she meets Edward, a cute, somewhat reserved man and her world brightens, her passion is rejuvenated.

The relationship starts as a friendship but builds perfectly. There isn’t a boat load of angst or crazy plot twists. You will not find two broken people battling horrible, unspeakable things that life throws at them. There aren’t drugs or violence in this storyline, the things that seem to be filling the Twilight Fandom. It really is a simple story of ‘boy meets girl’ with the added drama that Edward is sick. Their chemistry is raw and passionate and the banter between them is adorable and funny.  I find myself ending a lot of chapters with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face.

You really feel a pull towards these characters; their love comes across as real, like you’re watching them live their lives together.  Their fights ring true and the make ups are sweet. I know there are a lot of people that read a story with the full intent of wanting hot lemons and sexy scenes… let me tell you that even the implied sex in this story gives me the warm and fuzzies!  She makes you feel their want and need so much its ridiculous.

Bella is strong and assertive; Edward is cocky but so sweet. Neither of them takes the other for granted and they both call each other out on their shit. In my opinion, this is my favorite Bella/Edward connection.
So far this is my favorite banter between the two because it really does sum up them as a couple:
"I thought you were staring at me because you could tell something was wrong."
She shakes her head, running her nails against his scalp. "I know it sounds corny, but I was staring because you're so handsome. I couldn't look away."
"I don't think I'd believe that if it was anyone else but you."
"Why?"
"Because you're so weird."
She huffs. "See? I try to be nice, and – "
He kisses her, his mouth open and soft. She practically sighs when he draws away. "The first time I saw you, you were in dance clothes, all black. I could see your pointe shoes hanging out of your bag. You kept messing with your hair, taking it down and putting it back up. Your freckles made your face look otherworldly, because they were sticking out against the paleness of your face. I wanted to touch every single one." As he says this, he drags the pads of his fingers, mapping each one against her skin.
"It's a testament," he continues, "to how beautiful I found you that I couldn't stop staring at your freckles, when you have such a nice rack."
"Such a guy," she comments, hardly bothered.
It’s a must read in my book and a beautiful story that I look forward to each Thursday.

Sue's Interview with Saltire884 about her fic 'Pistols and Petticoats'

It was another fine evening on twitter, I was minding my own business *snort* when I got a tweet from a buddy of mine JJJulibee. She was talking to someone I did not know, and she said something to the effect of:

If you have a period fic you have to talk to Roselover24 (that's me BTW),
I did the *ears perked* you have attention!
I was asked by a new writer to give her 1st chapter a read. We exchanged e-mails, and

IT IS A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN!

The angels wept, the clouds opened up, and the sun shined through!
OK, OK I exaggerate a bit (just a bit). I read her first chapter then proceeded to HOUND this poor woman I had never met into giving me anything else she had. I encouraged, I offered minor changes, I asked questions.
She posted her first chapter, and I gushed about her on twitter, and oddly enough people listened.

AND SO the next big thing was born! I cannot tell you how happy I am to be one of the people to encourage you to read this fic

ANNNNND (you are saying to yourself) SUE what is this fic about??
Well here is her description :

In a drunken gamble by her father, Bella finds her future wagered to town loner, Edward Cullen. But with stakes this high, how much will Bella lose, or will chance be on her side?

And here is mine:
We have a town loner, not by choice. He is a loner because the town is full of a bunch of bigots (common at the time) and he is half Comanche, on his mothers side. She is the daughter of a drunken asshole. The dad is abusive, and well a jerk (not sexually abusive). Again behavior that was common at that time. She is promised to be wed to another jerk in town (not of her choosing). THEN her father actually BETS her in a poker game!

I will say no more, because that would be giving it all away. What we have here is a lovely tale that is full of drama and neat characters that you fall in love with and some you just LOVE to hate. I told (that's right I did not ask her) Saltire I was going to interview her for the blog. She hemmed and hawwed for all of 2 seconds, and THAT is how this post was BORN!!

SO my dears you know the drill read the interview, drool over the pics, then go read the fic and leave some lovin!
Please remember that Chrissy and I were giggling throughout this interview we had a blast, chatted with each others children. It was just downright fun.

Sue's interview with SDfreeze about her fics The Cube, Tilt , and Drift

Bella is a unique girl, to say the least, and meets Edward when he needs to learn a different way to live. She helps him look at the world in a whole new way and find true love.
 TILT
Can a squiggle and a Lemniscates make a marriage work and have a child? Will Edward, ah, learn to trust women and will Bella finally learn to listen *SEQUEL To The Cube*
Family life with a squiggle can be tough, but a trip to Hawaii with their friends gives Edward, ah, and Bella an adventure of a lifetime. *Third in the trilogy of The Cube and Tilt*

I am reviewing a trilogy for you, today. A trio of fics that had me laughing, shaking my head, guffawing, giggling, etc.

I got this rec from none other than the fabulous WriteonTime123. Yes, I stalk her tweets. Do not worry, she knows I am her stalker, and she is OK (or at least she says she is).

This trio of fics has brought to me, what I can confidently say is just the best Bella EVER!

Yes, I know I have said it before, but this Bella is just so fantastic. She is her own person and is happy with that.

I LOVE THAT!

This Bella looks at the world in a different way, and she sees things that may or may not be there.

It is creative people like Bella that make life interesting, however she cannot survive as a squiggle in a world of squares. She needs a translater, someone who can fit in both the square world, and one who understands and appreciates the squiggles of the world, for the beauty they bring. She needs a...

Lemniscate ....

Enter Edward. He is, well, sweet, gullible, sweet and just so Edward. Ah, most of the time...

I like this fic. I love to laugh and this has some hotness in it, along with the giggles. It also reminds you of the fun of fic.

So go read it! Leave her lovin', etc., etc. You will not regret it! Trust me!

Sue's Interview with Brattyvamp about her fic 'Love on Wheels'

Love on Wheels by Bratty-Vamp

It's fast... it's fun... it's 1978! The most 'not-to-be-taken-seriously-fic' you'll ever be tempted to take seriously! Trying my hand at fluff this time around. So lace up your quads and let's get groovy.

ALRIGHTY if you know ME you know that my favorite genre of fic is AuH period fic meaning a fic set in another time (for those with their minds in the gutter thinking about menstruation YUCK)

ENTER Brattyvamp who likes to write the funny. You might know her from some of her other fics, most notably one of my favs The Best Man

WELL, she wrote this little diddy called Love on Wheels set in the 1970s. You know, the decade that fashion forgot.

So what do I love so much about this fic besides it being set in another time?
The imagery of these characters in 70s clothes slays me. I am a 70s baby, so I fondly remember things like polyester, bell bottoms and men with carpet-like chest hair being sexy (mama and my aunties had a thing for Tom Selleck)

So join me in checking out this lovely complete fic for some fun "time travel" back to the 70s

Micki Martini interviews The_Black_Arrow, author of The Blessing and the Curse.

The Blessing and the Curse by The_Black_Arrow

Summary: By pretending she is falling for Edward, Bella is fulfilling Esme's dying wish. But sexy, possessive Edward can read her mind. Will she ever get into his? Can Bella forget the pain of her teenage years, and can she resist his relentless seduction? AH.
Twilight - Rated: M - English - Angst/Romance - Chapters: 21 - Words: 137,424 - Reviews: 10395 - Updated: 9-7-10 - Published: 5-31-09 - Bella & Edward

This interview was won in an auction to benefit Fandom Gives Back Eclipse/Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation sponsored by So You Think You Can Write.

The Blessing and the Curse is one of those stories that sucks you in from the very beginning and once started is next to impossible to put down. The_Black_Arrow’s descriptive prose is so spot-on, reading her story is like watching a film. This Bella is insecure and conflicted. This Edward, aka Curseward, is possessive and jealous. The supporting characters are richly developed. This is not a happy, feel-good story. Darkness, angst, and sadness prevail for much of it, but what keeps readers involved is the connection between the characters. Bella and Edward share a bond that goes beyond the natural world into the spiritual.  An excerpt from the prologue:

On one side of the coin, it was a blessing, because Bella had her soul mate by her side since the moment she first opened her eyes on this world.

But on the flipside, the blessing was her curse: her wicked soul mate could hear her thoughts, read her like a book and use what he wished.

Bella Swan and Edward Cullen are born on the same day to BFF mothers Renee and Esme, who consider them soul mates. When Bella is the tender age of five, Renee dies and Charlie’s profound grief renders him unable to properly care for her and she moves in with the Cullens. Bella and Edward‘s close relationship is marred by his increasingly possessive behavior in their teen years, culminating in a traumatic event that forces Bella to flee the country. The story begins with her return to the Cullen home after a six year absence in which she has made a life for herself and is now engaged. Why does she return? What does Edward do when he finds out Bella is engaged? Will Bella be able to resist Edward’s overwhelming, all-consuming need for her? For the two or three people in the fandom who haven’t read this story: Go. Read. Now.
