Sue's interview with Mac214 about her fic Coming through the Rye

WARNING WARNING
The following post contains things of a very hot and NSFW nature including, but not limited to, hot actors , men in kilts and naked men. If you can't handle this, or have a heart condition then well gosh, go somewhere else, I guess. we will miss you!

THIS STORY WAS PULLED by the author she is pursuing a career in legit publishing NO this is not going to be published she is going the traditional route with original stories we wish Mac all the best and thank her for her entertaining stories while they were available. Im leaving this post up because well the fic was good the interview is entertaining and the pictures are great!

AHHHH Ryeward, I have a such a thing for you

And who wouldn't? He's a guy who looks, and acts, like a guy! A guy that does not look like a model, that speaks with an accent, and occasionally likes to air out the boys wearing a kilt. Combine all of that, and you get a fandom that MELTS !!!!

He is funny.
He is sweet.
He farts.

Wait, WHAT??

Yes, he farts.
It blows all illusion of the perfect romantic hero, but the guy is so freakin' sweet you just can't resist him

And did I mention that he speaks with an accent ?

Of course SOME (profitina you freak I am looking at you) think that a Scot accent means he sounds like Shrek

WRONG ANSWER BABE!

In my head I hear a cross between
Sean Connery
Ewan McGreggor
I know he's Irish IDK he's also cute
and just a smidge of
Sean Biggerstaff (I only mention him cause his last name is FUCKIN AWESOME for a Scotsman to have).

SO what can I tell you about the fic Coming Through The Rye OTHER than it has a guy in it who is a scot?
hmmm

ummm

I'm kidding! This fic, written by Mac214, is about Bella. She is in lusty love with her best friend Edward, who happens to be in the US on a work visa.
Edward is dating someone else, Senna.
What happens when Edward loses his job due to cutbacks? How will he be able to stay in the US?
Well, he'll marry an American of course!
SO, he and Bella marry for conveinience,
AND the adventures just start from there.
What we have here is a comedy of errors and romance, with Scot sayings thrown in for good measure.
This is a feel good fic, with warm fuzzies and bonny knobs

Here is how she puts it :
"I'd never been one of those women who found foreign accents sexy until I met Edward. Now, even plaid made me horny." Bella is in love with her best friend, Scottish expat Edward, and she'll do anything for him. Anything.

NOW let's see what Mac214 has to say during my grueling interview.
THIS is where things take a turn for the NSFW side. SOME of the pics have something to do with the fic, and others are just there ...because I like them! ENJOY!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What was it that gave you the ‘spark’ for your story? Was it a picture? A moment or event? Can you remember the initial inspiration?
mac: So, my first job out of college was working for immigration, and we did a lot of marriage cases and H-1B cases (specialized worker visas). I've also always wanted to try to write someone with an accent, and I have a deep love of kilts.
There's something fun about writing what you know.
Not to say I know what I'm doing with the accent, which is why Claire, my Scottish prereader, is vital.
me: Well I can hear him in my head, even if he just said fook it
mac: Oh good! I'm glad the accent comes across. I hear him in my head too... but not in the way that some readers do. I've heard that some hear Shrek when they read... so not sexy. ;-p
me: No, shrek is not sexy
I hear Ewan Macgreggor, but I 'm weird
mac: LOVE. I hear Ewan McGregor or a younger Sean Connery.
me: OHHH SEAN IS PERFECT
from Darby OGill and the little people.
Do you have a particular process when it comes to your writing, perhaps a certain mood, environment or music? Do you have any ‘triggers’ to get you in the writing mood?
mac: Not for Ryeward! I can write this fic anywhere, anytime. I've been updating pretty quickly - Ryeward just wants to be heard. Heh!
me: I noticed! I cant wait till we get into his head.
I have a sneaking suspiscion he has been in love with her all along
mac: I can neither confirm nor deny. ;-p
me: I know it is either that, OR he was in love with her thought he did not have a chance so he stuck to the buddy thing.
I do not want to find out till everyone else does in the story,
that ruins the fun
mac: Not to worry - I'm not telling you anyway. Heh!
me: I know, I just did not wanna sound like I was asking
mac: Nah. I know you'd never beg me to tell you!!
me: I might beg, but then I'd beg not to know. LOL
I'm weird.
Give us an elevator pitch. Say you’re in an elevator with a prospective reader for 2 minutes – what would you tell them about the story?
mac: I think we know from our last interview together how much I suck at this. Heh!
I'd tell people Ryeward has an accent and a kilt and isn't afraid to use them.
me: Most people do.
I asked this Q the other night of the person who wrote the Question, she was mad. LOL
mac: And then there's Bonny Knob McThrobsen of Clan Cock
me: Have you made the clan cock banner?
Because I have found MORE cocks that would be worthy,
banner worthy that is.
mac: No, but it's in the works. Ms. Ambrosia, who made my banner and blinkie, has agreed to make it.
Send those uncut boabies my way!!
(SINCE we did the interview the clan cock banner has been made and HERE it is !)
me: PERFECT! Takes flying my flag to a whole new level.
I have an entire folder. LOL I collect parka peen
mac: Coincidentally, boaby is my favorite word now.
me: On Twitter several people have taken to saying Fookitall
mac: I like it!!
me: Ryeward is VERRAH popular
mac: My prereader Claire made me totally jealous today - a busload of shinty players came into her restaurant, and she got to snuggle with one of the ones.
Is he?? I hope that's true - he's too sweet not to be well liked. Heh!
me: A bit oblivious but he is sweet
mac: VERY oblivious.
Do you picture particular actors for your characters, or are they someone else entirely? If so, who?
mac: Ryeward is a slightly less perfect version of Robert Pattinson, with much redder hair. But everyone else is kind of the same
me: So a more beat up version of R0b, more scars, slightly older.
mac: Yeah, just a bit - he and Bella are, what, like 30 in this one. Ryeward is also a bit more, er, rugged.
me: You're the writer you oughta know!
mac: I never gave them a specific age... but I'm thinking 30, 31.
me: So tired Rob, scruff, scars, a few cuts.
NIIICE! More meat on his bones
mac: That's about right
Is the story all planned out or do you do it as a fly by the seat of your pants thing?
mac: Nope, this is planned. It is outlined, although there's a bit of wiggle room for some things.
A very little bit.
Do you have a Beta and would you like to give him/her a shoutout here?
mac: I have awesome betas - Viola Cornuta and askthemagic8ball are my betas for this one, and sncmom, Claireoth, and JulezP are my prereaders. All of them are fantastic.
me: Dang you have a big team there! Good stuff!
mac: I ALWAYS have two betas. Having at least 2 prereaders is great, and Claire is extra special because she's Scottish and serves as my Scottish advisor.
me: I think more fics need more Betas. I know Lambie uses 2, plus a few prereaders. I know that cause she is the one I talk betas with LOL
mac: Having 2 is something I got used to because of working with Project Team Beta. Inevitably, one of your betas will be better at something than the other, and vice versa. It helps you get a better end product.
Have you got any other projects going on? Any planned for the future
mac: Well, I have chapter 2 of The Stiletto Talisman ready to be written, and BellaFlan and I are planning a really fucked up, hilarious collaboration.
me: BellaFlan is crazy ..in a good way.
Her fic has me all turned around and backwards
mac: I absolutely love her. She's a total scream!
me: I tried explaining it to my hubs, told him he had to read it, and he looked like I was nuts and said, "Just send me the link, hon."
mac: BBS is one of my faves... I'm prereading her new one, so that's fun.
me: I'm her #1 perv. I am interrogating her tomorrow.
What brought you to twilight fanfic? What is it that has kept you here besides your own writing ?
mac: I was downsized at work last year, shortly after I read the Twi saga. Right before I left my job, my assistant brought up fanfiction. An unemployed mac equals a cranky, antsy, emo mac, so I read a lot of Twific while I was looking for a new job.
What's kept me here, though, are the people in the fandom and some of the awesome fics on my alerts list.
me: Awwwwww,
Me too, except for the job thing.
Do you have a background in writing ?
mac: I do - I have a degree in English Lit, and my first job ever was working in journalism for the local newspaper in my tiny hometown.
I also write professionally as a nonprofit fundraiser...
Well, for the next couple of weeks anyway. Then I'm moving into freelance writing.
me: snort And you read the nonsense I put on my blog about fic! That cracks me UP, sorry.
mac: Oh, please - this is all so much fun!
me:a nd that is how it is supposed to be. My blog is a friend who has more time to read more stories than anyone reading fics, and recing them after chatting with the authors to show people that authors are just people too, and if that run on made sense you have been drinking too much.
not a parka but who cares?
mac: Well, I just eat eel....
me: LOL and your mind takes you to weird and pretty places.
mac: I know. I fully admit to being warped.
Have you read the BBS outtake I forced BellaFlan to write when I won her in FGB?
me: No, I did not
mac: So much frozen poultry.... hehehehe!
me: BWHAHAHAHAHAHA!
mac: It's hilarious!
me: I just caught up on BBS today.
I was 3 chapters behind.
mac: Be sure to read the outtake before your interview. ;-p
me:YES MAYUM!
How about your creative self-confidence? By nature writers tend to be a notoriously insecure lot, so how are you finding the online writing experience?
mac: I'm always shocked that anyone reads anything I write, and I'm positively thrilled that people seem to dig Ryeward.
me: Are you kidding? This is the romantic comedy I have been waiting for!
mac: Aw, sweet! xoxo
me: There are so many angsty, heart wrenching stories out there. Fun fluff that is not sappy is my thing.
mac: I'm on a non-angst kick right now.
Do you tell your friends and family that you're an online author with a devoted following, or is this something that you tend to keep to yourself
mac: There's not a lot available in the fandom that's fluffy but sexy, without being stupid. I'm purely closeted. heh!
me: I cannot take angst in large amounts but I also cannot handle sappy flluff. OHHHH hon, even my MIL knows about my Fanfic obsession and my strange blog.
mac: I like to keep some things to myself.
me: She does not know about the porn. You would be surprised at the number of people whose families have no idea about their FanFic alter egos.
Is there a particular character in your story that you identify with the most?
mac: In Ryeward, Irina is entirely based on me. Her reactions, etc.... yeah, I totally wrote myself into a fic. I'm a sad, sad little woman. ;-p
me: Sad would be if you were Bella, that would be sad. Well not if you had him, but still sad.
Now I'm confusing myself
mac: Heh! If it meant I could
have access to Clan Cock, I might do it.
me: But he OFFERED and she turned him down!!
mac: For good reason, though - she doesn't want to be the rebound!
me: I am one of those leap first, worry about consequences later kinda people.
mac: I vacillate between the two. Heh!
Which Real life Author(s) inspires you?
mac: I'm a huge fan of Kurt Vonnegut and John Irving.
Did any FF authors inspire you? what was it tht had you reading FF and thinking I could do this!
mac: My first fic was JayJayHale's Dirty Dancing With the Devil Herself... but I didn't think I could write until I just did it. There are a few who inspire me, though - Gondolier is fantastic. HL5 is well written and perfectly plotted.
me: yes ! Love HL5. I think we have had this convo before, I am feeling DEJA VU (perhaps I should put a link to the mougarward interview here LOL).
mac: I think so too - there are similar questions...
me: I always ask the exact same Questions
of every author. for every fic.
Boring, I know.
This is just here because I think it's hot
mac: Nah, you gotta have a standard.
me: What is neat is when I get different answers.
mac: Hopefully I'm consistent! Heh!
What advice would you give to an aspiring fanfic writer?
me: Aspiring is hard to spell
mac: heh!
me: Sorry, just my side note there, it took 4 tries.
mac: Always use a beta, write what you know, never base your lemons on the work of others.
Give us a random fact about yourself
mac: I like to make cheese
me: REALLY?
mac: Note: that does not say CUT the cheese.
me: Like take the milk, cook it and make cheese? What kind of cheese do you make?
mac: Yeah, I make ricotta and fromage blanc, and I've tried to make mozzarella and monterey jack with mixed results
me: I always wanted to try to make ricotta.
mac: Ricotta is fairly easy.
me: I have a recipe for the ricotta in one of my farmer mags. That is what it looks like. I use it a lot in the winter when I make lasagna roll ups
mac: It's fun!
me: I should get my teenagers on it, they love to cook.
If you could have 15 minutes with any Edward FF or SMs which one would you choose and what would you do?
If you do not LIKE any of the Edwards feel to substitute an actor here. Rob, Kellan, PFach or Jackson or my personal favorite Colin.
SIGH(taking a moment to contemplate Colin) any actor at all really
I umm have a bit of thing for Colin Firth BTW
mac: I will always take Kellan Lutz over anyone else, but a FF Edward... I'd take the Edward from PaperCutOuts. I'm crushing on him lately.
me: He is SOOO SWEET with his son, and just adorable.
and what would you do to him? either Kellan or Edward from paper cut outs
mac: Normally I don't have an interest in characters with little kids, but yeah...
What is your FanFic Pet Peeve?
mac: Bad grammar and punctuation, misspelled words, ludicrous lemons full of dripping pussies, flowery language, and dumb euphemisms.
me: The worst euphamism I ever heard was her moist cavern, still makes me giggle.
mac: I've seen some bad ones: love buttons, honey pots, steel rods.
me: Yeah, sex does not need to be graphic to be hot,
but that is just me.
mac: I don't mind graphic sex (I write some) if it's done well and doesn't read like an instruction manual.
What is your Fandom Pet Peeve?
mac: You just asked me that one... see above. ;-p
oh wait...
me: That was Fanfic peeve, this is Fandom peeve.
mac: Different question.
me: YUP!
mac: Fandom vs fanfic,
duh.
me: I should maybe break those up.
mac: Well... I think the drama is stupid. I fly under the radar, so I'm rarely involved.
me: I think when people take it too seriously it is annoying, this is supposed to be fun,
make it fun. If its not fun, don't play.
mac: Agreed - 100%.
me: Last Q-
Anything else you would like to add?
mac: No, not really. I could quote Bill & Ted and just say Be Excellent to Each Other... that'll sum it up. ;-p
I forget did I put this one in here already? OH WELL!
me: OHHHHHH bringing out the big guns! VERY profound!
LOOOOOVE IT!
mac: Hah!
That's me. Confucius.
