Sue's interview with lovedforeternity about 'Right Before my Eyes'

Summary: Edward Cullen is the hottest quarterback in the NFL. Off the field he's just a HOT MESS. Can his female agent help him change his ways before he's fired, or will she walk away forever!Submission for the LMSC 5 chap contest AH/ M language and Lemons

I have read many incarnations of Edward, including a few football Edwards.

Yes, I like football. Granted, I am not a psycho fan like SOME people I know *cough*SHANNIES*Cough*.

NOW, for my fans OUTSIDE the US, I am talking about American football. You know... the one where the men wear tons of protection etc. Now some *cough*Hannah*cough* call them pansies... we can forgive her. After all she is a Rugby fan... ahhhh rugby.

But I know enough about football to wear my cheesehead with pride, and follow the game for more than just the men in really great tight pants.

SO SERIOUSLY what is this fic about?

"The thighs, people. The THIGHS!!! (Yeah Hannah's met him :D )"]

"Hannah concedes that American Footballers' arms are impressive... but the thighs!"

Edward is a super hot, super talented quarterback in Denver. Bella is his overworked agent who is stuck "babysitting" him when he messes up.

So what happens when Edward pulls something REALLY stupid and pisses off the owners??
Bella could loose her job.
Edward could loose his job.
They used to be friends what happened??
Will Edward grow up?
Why is this post starting to sound like an old episode of SOAP??
Here is my interview:
1. Where did you get the idea for this story? What was your inspiration?
The inspiration for this ff was the song- The Search is Over- from Survivor. The spoiltone had told me about the contest Lyrical Melodrama Story Contest. I thought it sounded like fun so I picked out one of my favorite power ballad from the 80’s and that is where the story started. The song is about having someone in your life that you take for granted and then suddenly realizing that happiness is sitting there… Right Before Your Eyes! Yeah, it’s corny, but it is so me. Getting an outline together took about 5 minutes after I had the song. I loved football and a strong Bella, and who can resist a bad boy Edward. It was the perfect marriage between the song and the story.

2. Is there anything you would want readers to know specifically?
If you have read any of my other stories, I tend to write Edward in a perfect light. When I read Twilight, it is how I saw him… through Bella’s eyes. So I wanted to write a flawed Edward which was challenging for me, it was really hard because I like him the way he was originally written. I wanted to make him flawed but not unredeemable. I wanted him to be vulnerable, but not weak. I needed this Edward to need Bella, but not be needy. So it was hard for me when all of my other Edward’s have been the perfect boyfriend, husband and friend. I loved everything about writing his character.

3. Why should readers read your story?
I think one of the pluses of reading my story is that it is short! The story is only 5 chapters long per the contest. I know many people don’t get to spend much time reading, so you can read my story in under an hour and still feel like you were transported to a pro-football life in Denver.

4. So you do anything special while writing a chapter like listen to special music, need total silence, eat a bag of M&M's, drink heavily, whatever …?
I am bad! I smoke when I write. I don’t smoke any other time, but when I write I tend to get nervous or into my characters and it helped me relax. I also like to drink diet coke or grape powerade zero. I listen to my playlist for my iPod, but for obvious reasons, I listened to a lot of 80’s music. I listened to tons of Bon Jovi, REO speed wagon, Warrant, and Kip Winger. If you had big hair in the 80’s, chances are I listened to you while writing this story!

5. What do you do after you click the submit button for a chapter?
The first thing I do when I hit the submit button is that I take a deep breath and go to my inbox to make sure that it worked, because you always get a copy of the notice when you submit your chapter. I always clink on the link to make sure to see how it works, and then I wait patiently for the reviews. I’m greedy like that!

6. Do you have a soundtrack to your stories?
I don’t but I could easily make one with the amount of music that I listened to while writing.

7. What actor/actress do you picture as YOUR Edward and Bella?
This is always such a tough question for me for several reasons. I read Twilight before I ever even heard of Rob or Kristen. So Edward was solidified in my mind already. I knew that whoever they picked wouldn’t come close to the perfection in my mind, so Rob didn’t stand a chance. I think that if I could pick someone close to my thought would be a model named Mathias Laurdisen for Edward and Emmy Rossum for Bella.

8. Is the story all planned out or do you do it as a fly by the seat of your pants thing?
Normally, I fly by the seat of my pants, but this story was different. The story was all planned out from the beginning. I had a hard time with chapter five. I had so much information to give, but I didn’t want to give it all away in case I wanted to extend the story. With my other stories, I just write what comes to my mind.

9. Do you have a posting Schedule? If so what is it?
I don’t currently have a posting schedule. I have been asked by many of the readers to continue this story. I am still deciding on it. I left Bella in a bit of a decision. I would like to sort it all out and see what happens, but if I do, it will still be a short story, maybe five – seven chapter added on to the five already.

10. Do you believe in HEA?
I don’t like to read stories without a Happy Ending. I read a story called Closer. I can tell you that it was written well, and well thought out, but whole time, I believed that they would get together in the end, but it never happened, and then it ended badly. I was devastated for days. Yeah, I like my happy ever after much better. Readers will never get a non HEA from me. I am all about the cheese baby! J

11. Give me a list of your current projects AND do you have any more fic plans in the future?
I am currently working on a fanfic called If Not For You. It is inspired by the movie The Wedding Date. I am having lots of fun with that. My plan is to finish this story in the next two months and then work on Right Before Your Eyes, if the interest is still there. As far as new ideas for fics, I have a few ideas that have been floating around in my brain for awhile, but my life is packed so I am not sure when I will get around to them.

12. What brought you to fanfic? To twilight?
My daughter is to blame. We were on vacation about two years ago. She had mentioned the site many times. I saw her reading Making Love out of Nothing at All, by Ashel13. I was upset at first because my daughter was only 13. I read it and loved it but and then I started monitoring her usage and her stories and then I decided to try my hand at writing. So now, I read the smut and limit her stories. I am a mom first and a smut writer last. J

13. What is your background in writing?
My writing background is very limited. When I was young (late teens and early twenties) I used to write stories with my friend about the Rock Stars we loved. (Jimi Jamison from Survivor was one of them) The stories were all about the different ways that we would fall in love. It was fun, but I never wrote after that. I am an avid reader and have been for years. I do believe that if you can read that you have the potential to write if the desire is there. Who knows what readers like more than readers?

14. If you could have 15 minutes with any Edward FF or SM's, which one would you choose and what would you do?
If you do not LIKE any of the Edwards, feel to substitute an actor here. Rob, Kellan, PFach or Jackson
I think if I could pick any Edward on ff. I would pick Edward from Trapped in Heaven. He was just all about Bella, so in my fantasy he would be all about me… at least for 15 minutes.

15. What is your FF pet peeve?
My ff pet peeve is reading the same event in different points of view using the same stationary dialogue. I think if it is necessary to duplicate an event there is no way that the writer should ever copy and paste. It drives me crazy.

16. What is your Fandom PetPeeve?
My fandom pet peeve is making Edward gay and putting him with Jasper. Edward and Jasper together are not right. Edward does not swing both ways. Straight-up Gross!

17. Which character do you identify with the most?
I think I identify with Esme more than any other character. She is the motherly type, who just wants everyone to be as happy as she is. I enjoy her character very much in the books and in the FF’s.

Any character who would you like to see yourself with? Either as buddies or more?
I would be lying if I said that I wouldn’t love to be with Edward. I mean he has so many wonderful qualities it is hard, but I think if it weren’t for Edward it would be Carlisle. He is so patient and compassionate and I find that irresistible, plus he is a DILF.

18. Which RL author inspires you?
I love many authors, but I think that my favorite right now is Jane Green. I have read all of Jane Green books and she makes me smile with her real life women and their real life struggles. Her characters are very relatable.

Did any FF authors inspire you?
I think that I am in awe of VMJ

19. Any recs for us?
I am enjoying a few amazing fics right now.
My Escort by Bratty-Vamp
Master of the Universe by Snowqueen Icedragon
And last but not least, I ran by this sleeper of a fic that is pretty good. It is called
The story is very different and it is paced well. It doesn’t have the reviews it deserves, so give her some love. It has great potential.

20. If you could ask any Twilight Cast member a Question who would you ask and what would your Question be?
The only question I would ask would most likely be to Kristen Stewart.
I would ask her how many times a day she ran her hands over Taylor’s chiseled chest? I would also ask her how many times she asked Rob to put a shirt on! (Sorry I just don’t think Edward would appreciate Rob’s chest as his representation) Boo, hiss… I know, I hear you!

21. Anything else you would like to add?
I would like to thank you for having me and for recommending my fan fiction. Thank you to all readers that find anything about my stories remotely interesting. It touches my heart that the readers take the time to read my little ole stories. I want to thanks everyone for your support and your patience.
