As you know, we at SYTYCW blog about things that are good to read. WELL, Fictionista is a place where writers go to work on becoming better writers.
Fictionista has their spring workshop coming up. Here is the official announcement from them. After you read that, I have some things to say too, so keep reading! LOL.
Join the revolution! Applications are now open for Fictionista Workshop’s spring session.
Deadline for applications: Friday, April 15th, 2011
What’s new this session is that these workshops will focus on completed works of original fiction. These workshops are a wonderful way to explore the process of writing in a collaborative setting.
Writers, reader participants, moderators, and editors are invited to apply now for the round of workshops scheduled to begin during the week of May 1st, 2011. The workshops will run for approximately twelve weeks, and accepted applicants must be willing to commit to a weekly conference call via Skype with the workshop group they are assigned.
We are looking for:
- Writers - who are seeking the community of an online writing group to critique, edit and assist in the process of polishing your completed story of between 35,000 and 130,000 words. Do you have a NaNoWriMo piece collecting dust or an abandoned draft that needs some help to become even better?
- Participants - who are readers and constructive critics with an eye for detail and knowledge of what makes a good story. You'll sharpen your talent for critique while getting an inside look at the writing process.
- Editors - with a keen understanding of the English language. Here is an opportunity to edit a work of fiction in a workshop setting, while gaining further insight into the editing process.
- Moderators - who enjoy writers as well as readers and can lead a group of individuals in a workshop while maintaining a respectful and professional atmosphere.

From reading things on Twitter, I know that there are many misconceptions about what Fictionista does.
HERE IS YOUR CHANCE!
